International Museum Day

International Museum Day will be celebrated on May 18, 2025! 

International Museum Day will take place for the 48th time in 2028. It is proclaimed annually by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) on May 18 and celebrated in Germany on a nearby Sunday. This year exact on that date. The aim of Museum Day is to draw attention to museums in Germany and around the world and to invite visitors to discover the diversity of museums. 

In Germany, International Museum Day is coordinated nationwide by the German Museums Association and implemented in close cooperation with the museum associations and offices of the federal states at regional level as well as local museums. Museum Day is supported by ICOM Germany. This year, Museum Day is under the patronage of the President of the Federal Council, Manuela Schwesig.
